Misery (1998)
I've looked into my soul
Unsure of where I stand
Unsure of where my next step will lead
When the time to move is at hand
And who among you will follow
Those who have not yet cast me aside
Who among you are strong enough
To experience life by my side
Beneath this cloud of apathy
That lingers above my world
Lined in black ashes set free by the flame
Which consumes my very soul
And which of you do I long for
When need is influenced by desire
Which of you do I long for
When I am sinking beneath the mire
Of misconstrued misconceptions
Mere fragments of my reality
Imaginary circumstances
Which only seem real to me
And what would these answers bring
Torment to a lonely soul
My life reads as a diary
Of circumstances I can not possibly control
And no one can be relied upon
And no one can be counted on
And I still hear the unwavering voice of anxiety
To me... this is misery
