But A Stranger
by Conrad Miles
5-29-00
Stranger you are no more, that has passed.
Time has passed, and we’ve grown together,
the bonds between us grew so very tight.
But the sun set her beauty down again,
I guess, as a symbol of what was of us.
"I am too," faded away, slowly but surely.
How many times did we pass that phrase?
How many times did we share together?
All of them gone, now feeling like a stranger.
Our life together was our friend, mine,
but you, destined one, thought not.
Such a romantic beginning, so gorgeous,
I guess, that we are just a romantic Idea.
Stranger that I know without knowing,
you became my friend, a life of a friend,
that now, twin, Is nothing but a stranger.
